KCSteelSupply.com Business Description Kathy Chasteen started in the steel business as a steel purchasing agent for a fabricator for 10 years, then she went into steel sales for 10 years. In 1995 she decided to open her own small service center. KC Steel started out in a small rental building (approx. 2000 sq ft) on Whitehall Road. The business consisted of Kathy, a forklift driver and a truck driver. She quickly outgrew this building. The business grew so rapidly the second year their sales doubled. After adding another tractor trailer the business outgrew the second rental building as well. Kathy built the current location and moved in 2000 and made it her final move. The 32,000 sq ft building is located on eight acres. The building has adjacent land on either side for easy expansion. KC Steel currently employees twelve people and achieved record sales in 2007.
